A Look at IP for Startups [Wamda TV]

by wamda,   February 3, 2012

"Intellectual Property refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce," according to the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

At the CoE Animate event, held in Dubai in September 2011, Dino Wilkinson of legal practice Norton Rose Group, dissects intellectual property (IP), including what types of IP can be protected in the animation industry, what value IP has for a startup or media company, and how it can contribute to your revenue stream and company valuation.

It's worth mentioning that at Wamda we use Creative Commons licensing, something that startups may want to look into as an alternative to traditional IP registration, as it eliminates the costs involved.
