At Google's Ebda2 Competition, Sarah Wali and Mahamad El Tanahy of citizen journalism platform CitJo explain how they built the platform in 3 months to create an online hub where citizen journalists can post their content not just to reveal stories from around the region but also to make it available to media organizations. They discuss the challenges of launching the product quickly, and keeping a focused vision when it comes to expanding the product. Wali and El Tanahy hope to give CitJo an edge over international competitors with a focus on the region, integration with social networks, and ability to vet content for premium subscribers.
