EOTW: The Challenges of Being a Hardware Entrepreneur: Hind Hobeika of Heart Rate Monitor Butterfleye [Wamda TV]
This week's Entreptreneur of the Week is Hind Hobeika of Lebanon, the creator of Butterfleye, which is now a finalist in the MIT Arab Business Plan Competition this year. In a chat with Wamda at Qatar's ICT conference QITCOM, Hobeika describes creating her product, a heart rate monitor that allows swimmers to view data in real time inside their goggles. Hobeika describes how Qatar Foundation's reality TV show Stars of Science kickstarted her entrepreneurial career by helping her to develop her prototype. She also touches upon the challenges of being a hardware entrepreneur, describing how having structure helps young entrepreneurs to create and deliver.
