Localizing Comparison Shopping for Financial Products: Ambareen Musa of Souqalmal [Wamda TV]
Mauritian entrepreneur Ambareen Musa, who started her first company at 21, explains at Arabnet 2012 how she built Souqalmal by localizing the concept behind MoneySupermarket in the U.K. The site, which allows consumers to compare different financial products, including credit cards, personal loans, auto loans, and bank accounts, creates a channel for customer feedback on the various products, while also allows smaller banks to compete and showcase their products alongside larger banks, she says. The company, which launched in Dubai, has now expanded into Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Musa also touches upon her experience operating in these markets as a female entrepreneur.
