At Arabnet 2012, Monica Debowski and Sonia Sultan of GlamBox.me discuss how they came up with the idea for GlamBox and how the company works to build a community around sampling beauty products.
Customers subscribe to receive monthly beauty product samples and can earn points for their reviews online to redeem products on GlamBox’s e-commerce site.
The founders, neither originally from the Arab world, saw a market opportunity and teamed up to start their own company in Dubai. They have seen strong growth since their initial launch and are looking to expand throughout the rest of MENA.
Debowski explains that GlamBox.me is trying to build a cultural acceptance for online purchasing by not offering COD and instead using platforms PayPal and CashU.
Earlier this week, Wamda spoke with Glambox's founders about the startup's growth and future plans.
