Michelle Thorne of Mozilla Announces New Mobile Operating System [WamdaTV]
At SHARE Beirut during the first weekend of October, Michelle Thorne of Mozilla speaks about their non-profit organization which puts users first. She introduces a new program called WebMaker which aims to raise awareness around web literacy, a skill which they consider to be as important as reading and writing, and teach users to easily build basic HTML code.
Thorne also announces a mobile operating system called Firefox OS, all web based and runs on HTML, CSS and Javascript which is expected to launch first in Brazil very soon.
"We are excited about hackable phones, we see it as extending this idea about your phone working for you, being hackable and you being able to customize it; it is like a natural extension of our mission and believes", says Thorne.
