10 Arab World SMEs make the InfoDev Top 50

Ten startups from the Arab World made the list of InfoDev Top 50 SMEs this past week at at the 4th Global Forum on Innovation & Technology Entrepreneurship.

The SMEs were chosen because they
create innovative technology and technology for transformative purposes, and thirty-six of them focused exclusively on mobile technology. The startups were selected as part of InfoDev's initiative to facilitate access to finance for businesses that enable access to information and can be used to enhance health, education, and governance. All 50 winners were granted attendance at the forum, where they were connected with mentors, angel investors, corporate partners, and incubators.

Entrepreneurs, incubators, investors, and policy-makers came together at the forum to support technology-driven innovation as a means for creating jobs, economic growth, and competitiveness. InfoDev is the technology and innovation-led development finance program developed by The World Bank and the IFC.
