Maybank discusses Gilt’s current focus on emerging markets through a globalized website and how the company is pivoting to mobile. 35% of Gilt’s revenues come from mobile today and she predicts that in 2 years Gilt may be a “mobile only” or “mobile majority” business.
Her advice for young entrepreneurs in e-commerce is that now is the right time; capital is available. But never be too tied to one idea; new e-commerce businesses have to be flexible with changing technologies and ecosystems.
