The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) will be hosting a launch event for Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) in Baghdad on March 6th, 2013, a business development program designed to mobilize resources and help companies to develop the capacity to contribute to better the conditions of marginalized people.
The program operates a challenge fund where companies and market oriented NGO’s in any sector can apply for funding, as long as their organization’s objective is to create a sustainable operation that benefits low income earners.
In the Arab world, the fund focuses on solutions for water resource management, youth unemployment, and economic development.
The event, which will take place at the Embasy of Sweden in Baghdad, Iraq, will feature an overview of IAP and offer participants a chance to learn how to apply for funding.
