AlMaqarr not only offers coworking space and conference rooms, but also regularly organizes social and recreational events for members. Founder Abdel Kader Ahmed explains that the space also offers training sessions in entrepreneurship, project management and other key skill development.

Workspaces at AlMaqarr include independent rooms that each fit around 15 people; the entire space fits up to 120 persons. AlMaqarr also offers conference rooms and lecture halls, and their monthly fee for space and services ranges from 1500 to 2000 Egyptian Pounds.

district egyptThe District Egypt:

TIEC is a government initiative to support entrepreneurial projects in the Information Technology field. The center offers coworking space for young entrepreneurs and training seminars in business plan development, legal and financial counseling, cloud computing, and technical support.

Facilities and services offered by TIEC:

  • Access to the center’s mobile labs (Nokia mobile lab, and soon a BlackBerry mobile lab).
  • The center purchases market study reports and provides them to entrepreneurs free of charge.
  • The center facilitates connecting with key investors and businessmen by regularly organizing social events.

This space relies on the community asking for a small fee for hourly, daily, or monthly use. More a hackerspace and open community than a straight coworking space Rasheed22 is good for strong internet and business meetings.

302Labs offers co-working space and conference rooms, allowing entrepreneurs to book their own office space 24/7. People can use a 302Labs workspace for a daily fee of 40 Egyptian Pounds, or a a monthly fee ranging from 360 to 550 Egyptian Pounds.

Innoventures Startup Circus

Address: 124 Othman Ibn Affan Street, Third Floor, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt.

Innoventures has created the Startup Circus – a coworking space that can fit up to 20 entrepreneurs at the same time. Subscription packages are available for 150 Egyptian Pounds per month, 300 Egyptian Pounds for 3 months, and 800 Egyptian pounds for a year.

Startup Circus provides access to a database of mentors and entrepreneurs as well as the opportunity to attend educational seminars on entrepreneurship.

icecairo is affiliated with the international co-working space company icehubs. icecairo relies on eco-friendly objects such as garden lights, recycled furniture, water purification system, irrigation system, a hydroelectric generating unit, and a fertilization system for the recycling and re-use of organic waste.

The cost of working in icecairo is 10 FGP per hour for the workspace or the recreational area. Conference rooms are available for 100 EGP per hour and 500 EGP for a full work day. icecairo also offers the possibility of booking the entire place for 1500 EGP for a full working day during weekdays, and 2500 during the weekends.

Co-founder Adam Molino-Berry explains that icecairo is currently working to establish “Fablab” which will be the first such "build-space" in Cairo, set to include a 3D printer, laser cutter, metal forming CNC machine, and other machines and tools.
