Equity funding was the top challenge entrepreneurs identified. “Equity funding is still nascent here,” says Hassan Haider, the CEO of Tenmou. Other attendees noted tough regulations, a lack of mentorship opportunities, a general stigma towards failure in Bahrain, and lacking payment gateways as some of Bahrain’s greatest challenges to starting up. Within their company, several entrepreneurs explained that team building, marketing, and finding suppliers in Bahrain.
