As part of the Excellence series hosted by in5, this session on Big Data as an emerging technology will discuss the various big data technologies that organizations can utilize. It will answer questions on why and how organizations can benefit from big data, how big data enhance competitive advantage and highlight what is missing for organizations in the region to embark on big data. This event is free to attend.

Speakers will share insights and discuss the latest on how you can benefit from this emerging technology:

  • Nabila Charkaoui is a Senior Certified Architect in Information Architecture and a Project Manager. She has been designing, building and managing Business Analytics and Information Management projects in the MEA region since 2005. She has a passion for delivering customer value using IBM technology and supporting the MEA clients during their Big Data and Analytics journey.

  • Kevin Ashby has been with Microsoft UAE since 2012 as the Application Platform Product Manager with a focus on SQL Server and Microsoft's Cloud, Windows Azure. He is a contributor to many user communities including the SQL Server User Group and whilst resident in the UK, the UK Oracle Users Group, chairing and co-chairing special interest groups.

  • Ghassan Al Jamil is the Big Data - Solutions Lead, Middle East & Africa for Oracle. Prior to Oracle, Ghassan has over 19 years of hands-on experience spanning across different IT products & services, within several multinational companies & regional players including Oracle, HP and 3Com International.

  • Fadi Yousuf is the Founder and Managing Director of Axeldata Systems, a big data specialist consulting firm, and Founder of the Hadoop User Group UAE Meetup Group. During his career spanning more than 14 years, Fadi has held various technical, sales and management positions with Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Google, Cisco Systems and F5 Networks.
