The Saudi National Creative Initiative (SNCI), which has been operating for the past four years, launched its first Saudi Creative Season on March 2nd, with a series of workshops showcasing the 12 creative sectors classified by UNESCO in their 2013 Creative Economy Report, including:
- social innovation
- architecture and spatial designs
- visual art
- culinary arts
The sessions will be held simultaneously in Jeddah, Khobar and Riyadh.
SNCI will be holding a closing ceremony on May 23, 2016, at the King Faisal Center for Research & Islamic Studies, to bring together all entities and individuals who have offered their support to make SNCI happen. The theme of the closing ceremony will be a reflection of the creative industry in Saudi Arabia, past, present and future.
