Vezeeta secures $12m in series C

Egypt-based healthcare company Vezeeta has raised $12million in a Series C round led by Saudi Technology Ventures (STV).

Launched in 2011 in Cairo, it now operates across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region. Vezeeta is an online booking platform for the healthcare sector, enabling users to book doctors, clinic and hospital appointments. The company also offers healthcare professionals with practice-management software.

Joining STV in this round of investment are existing investors UAE-based Beco Capital, Sweden-based Vostok New Ventures and Jordan-based Silicon Badia as well as new investor UAE-based Crescent Enterprises’ CE-Ventures.

“We could not find a better investment team or strategic partner to help us take Vezeeta to its next stage,” said Amir Barsoum, founder and chief executive officer at Vezeeta.

The company previously raised $5million in its Series B round back in 2016. This latest investment will fund its expansion plans in Saudi Arabia as well as developing new products. Vezeeta claims to manage three million bookings across Mena, serving 2.5 million users and 10,000 doctors in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
