Governata, a Saudi-based enterprise data governance and management startup, has raised $4 million in seed funding to scale its AI-ready data infrastructure platform across Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.

The round saw participation from Joa Capital, abtal.vc, Sanabil Accelerator by 500 Global, Sadu Capital, and Plus VC, alongside Hyperscope Ventures, A-Typical Ventures, and Plug and Play.

Founded in 2025 by Khalid Almudayfir, Jehad Senan, and Djamel Mohand, Governata provides an enterprise data management and governance platform designed to help public and private institutions establish reliable, compliant, and AI-ready data foundations. Its AI-driven software strengthens data quality, classification, and governance to support responsible adoption of enterprise AI, machine learning, and generative AI.

The new capital will be used to accelerate product development, enhance AI-driven decision-making capabilities, and support regional expansion. In its next phase, Governata plans to integrate advanced machine learning and generative AI models into its architecture, enabling faster and more accurate enterprise decision-making while ensuring data localisation and protection.
