Wamda and Mowgli Foundation Announce Partnership to Bring Mentorship to Entrepreneurs

To assist entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa in their efforts to launch and scale, Wamda, an enabling platform for entrepreneurs, and the Mowgli Foundation, a leading mentorship organization headquartered in the UK, are announcing a broad partnership to offer mentorship to startups across the region.

Wamda, which launched a series of Mix n’ Mentor events this year in Amman, Beirut, and Dubai, bringing leading entrepreneurs and mentors together to discuss sector challenges, will now feature Mowgli Foundation Mentors and Entrepreneurs at future events in cities throughout the Arab world.

Mentors and entrepreneurs who have completed the unique Mowgli Mentoring Experience (MME) will also offer their experiences and expertise in video interviews on the Wamda.com media site, which will also list and cover Mowgli events.

With 27 MMEs conducted to date in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Algeria, Qatar and the UK, along with 3 micro-entrepreneur focused mentoring programs in Egypt and Jordan, Mowgli has matched over 250 mentors with 220 start-up and growth-phase entrepreneurs and 30 micro-entrepreneurs. The broader Mowgli Family Network of alumni now exceeds 540 in the MENA region and U.K.

By partnering, Wamda and the Mowgli Foundation jointly hope to promote opportunities for entrepreneurs, in an environment that can often be tough without guidance.

“In our partnership with Mowgli, we hope to help startups overcome the challenges that threaten their growth. Often, knowledge is more of a barrier than funding, so we plan to provide them with the crucial advice that they need to scale, create jobs, and transform regional economies,” said Habib Haddad, CEO of Wamda and co-founder of Yamli.

“Partnerships are a core part of Mowgli’s vision as we strive to place mentorship at the heart of supporting small, medium and micro size entrepreneurs in every country throughout the MENA region.  Our partnership with Wamda is an enabling factor within that vision and demonstrates our commitment to developing and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem said Helen Al Uzaizi, CEO of the Mowgli Foundation.
