Thinkers and Doers present Investing in Culture: Business and Social Impacts

The culture industry is booming in the Arab world, with the creation of world-level artistic infrastructures coupled with the renovation of centuries-old districts and the establishment of a prominent art market.

In this context, investors keen on making a positive difference face questions: Which projects to invest in? On which criteria can one assess cultural investment opportunity? How to add value to the intangible? How to create a positive impact for economy and society?

On January 19, Thinkers and Doersunder the patronage of H.E. Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, are organizing a one-day forum where more than 300 of the most important investors, cultural leaders, artists, and cultural industries will be answering these questions. Co-organised with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the event will take place at the Bahrain National Theater.

A set of conferences, talks, project pitching and workshops will have a single target: to invent and share ideas and solutions to stimulate investments and project developments. Speakers include Abduhamid Jumaa, Chairman of the Dubai International Film Festival, Jack Lang, President of Arab World Intsitute, Shaikha Hussah Al Sabah from Dar Al-Athar Al-Islammiyah, Jennifer Flay, director of FIAC art fair, Artist & Writer Mahi Binebine, Butheina Kazim, Co–founder of Cinema Akil and Omar Al-Quttan, Chairman of the Board at A.M Qattan Foundation.
