For the third year in a row, Maker Hackathon returns to empower innovators and makers to create functioning prototypes of their ideas in a 3-day hackathon, alongside a number of mentors who will provide insights on design, programming and marketing. The hackathon will take place on February 2-4 2017, at the Information Technology Institute at Smart Village in Cairo, Egypt.
Deadline for applications is January 24. During the hackathon, participants will work on their projects from A to Z, as they will be provided with all the tools and equipment needed to implement their projects and finalize their first prototypes (3D printers, laser cutters, arduinos, etc.).
Ahead of the hackathon, there will be a number of elimination stages before actually deciding on the final participants, who will also be taking part in preparatory sessions on ideation, innovation and creating business models (on January 29-30, 2017).
This event is organized by Dimensions Student Organization, which aims to enable Egyptian university students to become creators and entrepreneurs by organizing workshops and mentorship opportunities.
