UAE-based university students and graduates between the ages of 18 and 35 will have the chance to pitch their innovative ideas for prizes worth AED 200,000 in seed funding, as part of “Enterprising Youth: Business for Better.” The initiative aims to encourage students to explore their entrepreneurial potential, and empower them with the basic knowledge needed to turn their ideas into businesses.
Participants with innovative ideas in the areas of fintech, healthtech, AR/VR, transportation, data security and privacy, among many others, are invited to apply.
The competition is only open to accepted participants who have completed the three "Enterprising Youth Pre-accelerator" workshops, which are: "Profiting from Technology", "Mechanics of Success", and "Innovation Working for You".
The workshops will be taking place over the course of three consecutive Saturdays starting on April 8. Note that the workshops will be administered by industry experts and mentors from the region, and will be facilitated by Ziad Makhzoumi, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Strategy Consulting Group.
To be eligible for the workshops, interested applicants must send in their applications before April 3.
Following the workshops, competing participants will need to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges on May 3, for a chance to win seed funding for their project. First place winner will receive AED 150,000, second place winner will receive AED 30,000 and third place winner will receive AED 20,000.
