STEP Start: Here’s what you should expect #STEP2018

Gathering over 6,000 people in Dubai, STEP Conference will host its fifth edition on March 28, 29 and will feature four main stages: STEP Start, STEP X, STEP Money, and STEP Digital.

STEP Start will be curated by Wamda and will feature panels and talks about rising economies and the startup movement, building communities, educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, the difference between real leaders and CEOs, the copycats model, survival stories, the gender gaps among other topics.

STEP Conference is going all out this year with stages focusing on future technology and automation, blockchain and fintech, digital content and more. Wamda is curating a dedicated track on the evolution of the region's startup ecosystem on STEP Start, which is hosted at the AUD arena.

STEP Digital will focus on the latest tech trends, digital advertising, media and content; STEP X will revolves around IoT, self-driving cars, AI an regulations; STEP Money will tackle blockchain, cryptocurrency and payments, while STEP Start will be all about startups, entrepreneurs, and founders.

STEP Start will be curated by Wamda and will feature panels and talks about rising economies and the startup movement, building communities, educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, the difference between real leaders and CEOs, the copycats model, survival stories, the gender gaps among other topics.

This stage will be providing entrepreneurs with the know-how and insights to get on with their journey. Some of the speakers that will be taking the stage are Michael Dermer, author of The Lonely Entrepreneur, who shortly after he received a large private equity investment, lost it all when the financial crisis hit in 2008; Hande Cilingir, who is the cofounder of digital experiences platform Insider, has built an international school and took it to over 40 countries and was named the 3rd Woman CEO outside of the United States, according to Crunchbase; Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO and cofounder of Souq.com; Nour Al Hassan, the CEO of content localization services Tarjama; Issa Aghabi, investment officer at International Finance Corporation (IFC), Fadi Ghandour, executive chairman of the Wamda Grouphairman and many others.
