Rodha app raises $400,000 
  • Saudi Arabia-based foodtech startup Rodha, has raised SAR 1.5 million ($400,000) via crowdfunding platform Scopeer. 
  • Founded by Riyadh Al Ghamdi, Rodha offers a B2BC cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) platform, aiming to digitise the hospitality industry, with a focus on restaurants and cafes.
  • It plans to use the funds to accelerate its expansion across KSA.

Saudi Arabia-based food and beverages (F&B) tech startup Rodha, has raised SAR 1.5 million ($400,000) from 441 investors via crowdfunding platform Scopeer. 

Founded by Riyadh Al-Mahmoud in 2021, the startup offers a B2BC cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) operations management platform for restaurants and coffeehouses. The platform offers its end users three key products; table reservation, food ordering and curbside pickup.

Startups working to disrupt the hospitality industry across KSA and the wider region have been gaining a lot of traction amid ongoing digitsation of retail. These include, Foodics, a Riyadh-headquartered restaurant management platform that raised $20 million in Series A back in May 2021. 

During the first half of 2021, according to Al-Mahmoud, total consumer spending in the local F&B sector amounted to SAR 28 billion.

The startup currently operates only in Jeddah, and plans to expand to more cities in KSA, starting with Riyadh and Western Province.
