Four years after Sira Community first began bringing professionals together in Jordan, the community celebrated its fourth anniversary with رَبْعَتْنا (Rab3etna), an evening centered on one of the most important lessons it has learned along the way: meaningful community is built through belonging.

Founded in Jordan in 2022, Sira began with a belief that professionals grow best when they can be real with themselves, with each other, and with the spaces they are part of. Since then, it has grown into a regional professional community across Jordan and the UAE, bringing together diverse people around shared values, genuine connection, and personal and professional growth.

Over those four years, there has been plenty to measure: collaborations sparked, jobs created, businesses supported, introductions that opened doors, and opportunities that changed trajectories. But for its fourth anniversary, Sira deliberately chose to celebrate something harder to quantify: the relationships underneath those outcomes, and the small moments that turned a network of professionals into a community people genuinely feel part of.

That idea gave the anniversary its name: رَبْعَتْنا.

In Jordanian Arabic, rab3ena speaks to our people, our circle, the people we feel we belong with. It also carries a subtle nod to Sira Jordan entering its fourth year. But its deeper meaning lies in what has happened between those two points: strangers became familiar faces, professional introductions became friendships, and, somewhere along the way, a group of individuals became each other’s people.

Sira has come to understand belonging through the small signals that accumulate over time. The conversation that continues after an event. Someone checking in because they noticed you have not been around. An introduction made without expecting anything in return. A coffee that begins professionally and becomes a friendship. The familiar faces that make entering a room easier each time.

Repeated often enough, those moments communicate something much bigger: I know you. I see you. You matter here.

The fourth-anniversary experience was designed around five of those Signals of Belonging: Being Seen, Being Welcomed, Being Challenged, Being Supported, and Being Remembered. Rather than telling Sira’s story through achievements or titles, each signal was brought to life through the real experiences of members and the different ways the community has shown up in their lives.

Guests encountered stories of members finding support through difficult personal and professional transitions, being encouraged to pursue ideas and interests, having their perspectives challenged, finding people who showed up when they needed them, and experiencing the quieter moments of recognition and care that made them feel they had a place within the community.

Because after four years, Sira has also learned that belonging cannot be built by founders or community managers alone.

“People often thank Zara and me for creating Sira, but belonging is not something we could ever create on our own,” said Ayah Saeed, Co-Founder. “We can curate the people, create the spaces, set the values, and protect the culture. But all of you here are the ones who turn those things into community.”

That distinction feels particularly relevant today. As “community” becomes a word increasingly used by brands, businesses, and organizations, Sira’s four-year journey has reinforced the difference between gathering people and building something they genuinely want to remain part of. Bringing people into a room is only the beginning. Building the trust, consistency, relationships, and shared responsibility that turn those people into rab3a is the work that follows.

The evening also recognized the partners who have become part of that journey and that rab3a. Bank al Etihad, Sira’s anniversary partner, translated the theme of belonging into a collective tapestry created by guests throughout the night. Each person added their own thread to the piece, gradually creating something that could only exist through everyone’s individual contribution.

“When you find a partner who truly understands what you’re trying to build, they become part of the story too,” said Zara Najjar, Co-Founder. “Bank al Etihad understood this idea of belonging from the beginning — that something much bigger is created when individual people and connections come together.”

Sira extends its thanks to Bank al Etihad for supporting the anniversary and, more importantly, for understanding the strength and importance of belonging at its core.

As Sira Jordan enters its fifth year, there will be new people, new relationships, and new chapters to build. But what the community hopes to protect is remarkably simple: the conditions that allow people to become each other’s people.
