Dubai Lynx 2017
The Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity is the region’s annual event for the creative communications industry to learn, network and be inspired.
The 2017 festival takes place from March 5 - 7 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, where the language of creativity will be celebrated in all its forms. Closing the festival on March 8 will be the Dubai Lynx Awards, celebrating the region’s best creative work.
The venue of the event is divided into 4 main areas: Inspiration Stage, Regional Stage, Networking Stage, and Data x Innovation x Tech Stage. Each of these areas will host a number of keynote speakers and panelists from R/GA London, IDEO, Framestore, IBM and many more who will share their learnings and attempt to inspire attending entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.
In its effort to support the growth and development of creative talent in the region, the event will also host a number of educational programs on a broad range of specialised topics, from a number of tutors and inspiring industry thought leaders, including: Starcom Future Talent Academy, Leo Burnett Lynx Academy, and Think Tank with J. Walter Thompson.
Entreprenerus with startups are invited to apply for the Dubai Lynx Startup Programme, which offers mentoring workshops, matchmaking sessions, and advice from global industry leaders, in addition to free festival passes and an opportunity to attend the Cannes Lions Innovation conference in June. It is also a chance to showcase your startup to a wide audience by exhibiting at the Startup Alley. Be sure to register before February 12.
Each year, thousands of entries from across the region compete for the Lynx Award. The winners are announced and celebrated at the Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai on March 8 2017.
A new category that is eligible for submitting for the awards is ‘Innovation’, where technological creativity is the main topic of interest. Entries will need to demonstrate the relationship between a big idea and radical tech; that is, bespoke solutions that fulfil an unaddressed consumer need or deliver a product, service or brand message in a newly invented way.
Submission for award nominations closes on February 7.
