Glamera raises seed investment

Cairo-based beauty and wellness service booking platform Glamera, has raised a six-figure seed round from Saudi Arabia’s Dual Gate Investment Holding to expand its reach in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Founded in 2019 by Mohamed Hassan, Omar Fathy and Zafer Alsheri, Glamera is a mobile-first platform where users can find and book beauty services. The app also connects users with health and beauty professionals to provide consultations from a wide selection of doctors and hair dressers.

“The changes that coronavirus have made, became a great advantage for Glamera. The current circumstances have prompted users to realise the importance of pre-booking for all services including the beauty sector and raised awareness of the providers for joining the app to schedule their client’s appointments through pre-booking,” said Mohamed Hassan, co-founder and CEO at Glamera.

The company operates across Riyadh, Jeddah, Cairo, Alexandria and Erbil, and is looking to expand its footprint into more cities in Egypt and Saudi Arabia as well as in the UAE, Iraq and Kuwait.

“We have a powerful team of the best technical developers and expert project managers, working continuously to improve the design of the application interface to suit users, in addition to coming up with a recent version of the application within days that will impress users”, added Omar Fathy, chief technology officer (CTO) at Glamera.

Currently, the platform has 100,000 active users in addition to 600 providers in Egypt and another 120 in Riyadh.
