While it's easy to think 'tech' when you think about startup incubation, supporting non-tech startups is also critical for making an impact, says a Young Global Shaper we caught up with at the World Economic Forum Meeting in Jordan this May.
Waleed Abdelrahman is the general manager at Red Sea World, a group that has been operating since 1983 and that owns the rights to trade several international franchises in Egypt. Now, he explains, the company is working to support startups in the food & beverage sector and to help them scale.
"Entrepreneurship is about how you close this gap that you see in your market," says Abdelrahman. Watch the video to hear why he thinks supporting food & beverage startups is critical for making an impact.
