What do employers look for on social media? [Infographic]

While LinkedIn is often hailed as the go-to social network for professionals, and job seekers in particular, many employers also scout a candidate’s other online postings for a hint at whether they could fit in with a company’s culture and if they are actually involved in industry-relevant discussions and posts.

The below infographic by Jobvite shows that, when vetting potential employees,  94% of employers look to LinkedIn first, followed by 65% who use Facebook and 55% who use Twitter. Their activity on other networks likely has to do with the actual insights employers look to find.

On LinkedIn, which reached one million users in Saudi Arabia this month, employers investigate a candidate’s professional experience, length of each job, and specific skills or expertise. Facebook, Twitter and other platforms reveal a candidate’s compatibility with the company culture and whether they share industry-related posts.
