AUB Stanford Women in Data Science Conference

AUB Stanford Women in Data Science (WiDS) conference is a global conference organized in collaboration with Stanford ICME (Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering) in more than 50 locations globally aiming at providing an opportunity to hear about the latest data science-related research in multiple domains and learn how leading-edge companies and entrepreneurs are leveraging data science for success.

This year's event will take place on Tuesday March 5 at the American University of Beirut (AUB).

 

The regional conference is being led by AUB, and has grown to become one with the widest reach globally. Its key objectives are:

  • Creating a platform to promote a higher representation of women in data science

  • Exposing the latest data science research, practices and technologies,

  • Connecting regional researchers and practitioners to pioneering global data science networks,

  • Exchanging ideas and encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration.

This year’s conference features leading data scientists from industry and academia including globally ranked speakers such as IBM’s Marie Wallace, and LinkedIn World Economic Graph’s Jacqui Barrett to name a few. Also, the conference will have a stage equally representing leading entrepreneurial endeavors from the MENA region.

In addition to the series of panel talks and discussions, Wamda will be facilitating a roundtable under the name of ‘Girl Got IT, the Think Tank’.
