  • What is it?

    Mix N’ Mentor brings together promising entrepreneurs with top regional and global mentors. Thanks to its unique format and high profile delegates, 74% of past participants say they saw a direct improvement on their business.

  • Mentorship sessions

    At the core of the event are the mentorship sessions. Entrepreneurs will be matched with mentors based on profiles and needs. Various topics will be addressed throughout the sessions.

    There will be a number of workshops all throughout the event, ranging from User Acquisition to Public Speaking.

  • Fireside Chat

    At the end of the day, the whole group comes together to reflect on learnings in a fun, collaborative and very casual setting.

  • Ali Al Amine

    Cofounder at Fit Republik

    Ali is the Founder and Managing Director of FitRepublik, which has revolutionized the fitness landscape in the Middle East Region. He served as the Consumer Channel Group Lead for the Microsoft Corporation Gulf and was the General Manager of business development Merchant Bridge Investment Bank where he worked on a $70 Million fund to build four-star hotels across the MENA. He also arranged a joint venture with Stanhope for the London Prime Property Company. As part of the founding management team of Pragma Group Holding in Dubai, he started companies in the fields of hospitality, marketing and F&B across the region. He also set up a distribution company called Technoworld, which distributed Dell consumer products across the Middle East.

    Founder and CIO at Brate

      Sameeh is Specialized in Technology Management and Product Strategy & Development. He holds an MBA in Technology Management from UOP and BS in Computer Science from ESC. Prior to establishing Brate, Sameeh worked as an Enterprise Software Engineer, Information System Manager, Business Solution Executive, and Solution Architect and Consultant in Lebanon, KSA, Qatar, Spain, and Nigeria. His accumulated experiences led him to colead Brate into a successfully growing regional player.

  • Shadi Tabbara

    Cofounder and CEO at Brate

    Shadi is specialized in Strategy, Operations and Content Management. He Is a PRINCE II certified Project Manager. Prior to founding Brate, Shadi worked in Trade Planning and Management, Route to Market Strategy and Information Management in 8 markets across the Middle East and Europe. He leveraged on the experience to later establish his current growing business. He holds a BA in Business Administration with Entrepreneurship Emphasis from the American University of Beirut.

    Founder at ArabNet

    Omar Christidis is the founder and CEO of ArabNet, a hub for digital professionals and entrepreneurs to connect and learn. Prior to founding ArabNet, he was an investment associate at Sheffield Investment Co. and a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.Christidis was born in Beirut, Lebanon and has a BA and MBA from Yale University. He is a co-founder and Director of Development of the Yale Arab Alumni Association (YAAA), a community of over 200 Yale alumni and affiliates with an active interest in the Arab world.He also worked as a management consultant in the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the energy, telecommunication and public sectors.

    Cofounder at Looya

    Antoine the co-founder and managing partner of Exer Management and Technology, a consulting firm operating at the intersection of business and technology. Before cofounding Exer, Antoinne was a Director for Peppers and Rogers Group leading the financial services practice in the EMEA and North Africa region. He has been particularly focused on the Qatari market as the country is undergoing a strong wave of modernization across various industries and government bodies.

    Fawzi Rahal has over 15 years of digital creative, marketing and strategic expertise, gathered by working with multinational brands and local startups across a variety of verticals. Heading the regional digital business at Grey in the Middle East & North Africa, Fawzi worked with brands to create innovative digital products and services. Before joining Flat6Labs, Fawzi lead Gamutt, a consultancy working with brands, startups and content owners to set transformation strategies and that adapt with the digital age. Fawzi has a passion for typography and a love for tinkering with gadgets.

  • Jad Salame

    Managing Partner at Phoenician Funds

    Jad serves as Managing Partner and Founder at Phoenician Funds and as Board Member at More Capital. He currently manages the day to day operations of the firm including the end to end investment process (deal sourcing, screening, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring and exit) team and capability building, communication and investor relations. Prior to launching Phoenician Funds, he worked for over 10 years in advisory and banking, and has experience in MENA, Europe and Asia with institutions such as McKinsey, Booz & Co., and J.P. Morgan. He has worked across the globe including in the GCC, Turkey, Levant, North Africa and South East Asia, covering a variety of areas such as venture capital, private equity, investment banking, strategy, organization and governance, implementation and execution, as well as business and technology setup. Jad earned a Master's degree in Management and Finance from ESCP Europe in 2008, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Finance from the American University of Beirut in 2005.

  • Fadi Bizri

    Partner at B&Y Ventures

    Fadi is an entrepreneurship and innovation expert with over 10 years direct startup experience. He co-founded and is currently a board director at Speed, Lebanon’s only early-stage tech startup accelerator, which invests in highly-scalable Lebanese companies with global ambitions. Previously, he had co-founded Seeqnce, the first accelerator in Lebanon. He also co-founded SE Factory, a coding bootcamp for low-income youth. SE Factory helps talented students train on the necessary practical programming skills as well as soft skills that are required by the job market, subsequently providing access to top software development jobs. Previously, he led Bader Young Entrepreneurs Program, a leading Lebanese entrepreneurship support organization, and one of the first points of entry for most early-stage Lebanese tech startups seeking investment, mentorship and training. Fadi is a mentor and board member at a number of startups and advises organizations such as the World Bank, academic institutions and Lebanese government ministries on entrepreneurship policy and initiatives. Fadi holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut.

  • Samer Azar

    Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer at AltCity

    Samer is an entrepreneur, financial consultant, and angel investor with 10 years experience in the fields of financial assessment and management. Samer holds a portfolio of financial and feasibility studies across  eeal estate, construction materials, heavy industries, and IT and technology industries. In 2011, he co-founded AltCity to help build the next generation of digital leaders in Lebanon. He also cofounded Bootcamp a partnership with Al-Mawarid Bank supported by the Lebanon Central Bank (BDL) to help boost the flow of investable knowledge–based startups in Lebanon and currently acts as Boardmember.

  • Abdallah Yafi

    Managing Partner at Y Venture Partners

    Abdallah has more than 13 years of experience in entrepreneurship, technology, strategy and management consulting across the Middle East, Europe and North America. In addition to being an active angel investor, Abdallah is the managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, a Lebanese Investment fund that invests globally and supports high impact entrepreneurs in building high growth ventures. Abdallah is former founder with a couple of online marketplace ventures under his belt and a successful track record of exiting companies in Canada and the UK. Abdallah previously served on the Board of Directors and chaired the Strategy Committee of Big Bus Tours, the leading global operator of open-top sightseeing and recently co-led a large private equity exit transaction of the business. Between 2002 and 2008, Abdallah held a Management Consultant position with CSC and a Manager position with Accenture France. Abdallah holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University.

    Abed is the founder and Managing Director at Vinelab, a digital entertainment company based in the UAE and serving broadcast, music and sports entities in the MENA region with digital executions. Vinelab clients include MBC Group, Rotana Media Group, Sony Music, Nancy Ajram, Magida El Roumi, and others. Prior to Vinelab, Abed cofounded Rab3i TV, the first free-to-air interactive social network on TV and experienced 12 years spanning investments, media and telecoms across the US, South East Asia and the GCC.

  • Elie Habib

    Founder at Anghami

    In late 2012, seizing the opportunity of a lack of proper digital music service, Elie and his partner Eddy Maroun launched Anghami (My Tunes in Arabic).  In less than 1 year, Anghami reached over 3.7 million users. At Anghami, Elie runs the operations and product development, spending most of his time working between clouds, streams and pixels.  Before Anghami, Elie co-founded PowerMeMobile – a mobile messaging gateway provider. Prior to that, he was the CTO of one of the first portals in the Middle East Naharnet.com. Elie was selected an Endeavor high-impact entrepreneur in 2013 and a Lebanese top Entrepreneur in 2012 and 2013.

  • Ghaith Yafi

    Managing Partner at Y Venture Partners

    Ghaith Yafi has more than 13 years of experience in entrepreneurship, corporate finance and direct investments, primarily with early-stage companies in the Middle East, Europe, and North America. In addition to being an angel investor, Ghaith is also a Managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, a Beirut-based Venture Capital fund that invests globally with a focus on the ICT sector. He is also a former entrepreneur himself with a successful track record having founded and exited a couple of companies in Canada and the UK. Ghaith previously served on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of Big Bus Tours, the leading global operator of open-top sightseeing and recently co-led a large private equity exit transaction of the business. Prior to that, Ghaith spent more than 6 years in Investment Banking working for Houlihan Lokey, HSBC and Société Générale Investment Banking in France. Ghaith holds a Masters degree in Finance and Management from ESCP-Europe (France) and a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor degree from McGill University (Canada).

  • Karim Sarkis

    CEO at Sync Media FZ LLC

    Karim is the CEO of Sync Media, a production company that creates television and web video content. His current focus is creating and growing digital content channels on social media platforms. Prior to founding Sync Media, Karim held senior corporate positions in media including managing the television and radio business of the Abu Dhabi Media Company and being the Deputy Head of Channels at LBC. Prior to entering the media sector, Karim spent eleven years in management consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton, Arthur D. Little and Andersen Consulting. He continues to take on advisory roles with media companies and telecom operators. Karim is a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

  • Tarek Homsi

      Tarek comes to Diwanee with over 7 years of management consulting experience from Booz & Company, specialising in strategic planning and implementation programs in the media and consumer industries, working with major media companies in Europe and the Middle East: AOL Europe, Bertelsmann/RTL Group, Rotana/LBC. He previously worked for a European investment bank for 3 years in M&A in the Media and IT sectors, after having completed his MBA from INSEAD Business School.

  • Nizar Fakih

    Co-Founder | VP Strategy & Partnerships at STEP Group

    Nizar is the co-founder of STEP Group, one of the hottest new media companies for Arab millenials. STEP Group has launched STEP Conference, the largest tech and interactive gathering in the Middle East, StepFeed and YallaFeed, the English and Arabic content and video platforms that have grown to over 3M monthly users and 70M monthly views in less than two years.       Samir Hammoudeh is Lebanon Country Manager, at PAYFORT, the leading online payment service provider (PSP) in the Arab World.  Samir is helping entrepreneurs and innovators in the middle east achieve their dreams, he is contributing to the business growth and strategic alliances being formed within PAYFORT network since inception in 2014. Samir strategically nurtures prospects, manages business opportunities, creates a strong brand image, encourages online sales, improves user experience, including all project management, business management and all channels in the Lebanese market.

  • Ramzy Ismail

    Director at Techstars Dubai

    Ramzy is the Director for Techstars Dubai. Previously he was the Program Manager at Techstars Connection, an accelerator in partnership with Anheuser-Busch InBev and their corporate venture arm, ZX Ventures. During his time in the UAE, Ramzy was the interim Managing Director for Flat6Labs Abu Dhabi, helping lead the launch of a $10M UAE-based early stage fund and accelerator.  Prior to relocating to the UAE, Ramzy worked for EnterBridge Mobility, a SaaS product company as the Director of Business Development. Concurrently, Ramzy served as the Co-founder and CEO of Venuable, a mobile and web-based unique venues marketplace that was accelerated through top 25 U.S. accelerator, Lighthouse Labs. His experience also includes corporate strategy and product development roles with VeriSign, Capital One, and the CFO of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He graduated from VCU in 2012 with dual degrees Finance and Entrepreneurship.

  • Maria Barsuk

    Venture Capital Investment Programme at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

    Maria has recently joined the EBRD Venture Capital team. She works on active sourcing and origination of investments and deal execution. Previously, Maria was a CEO of one of the most successful start-ups in Ukraine, an EBRD portfolio company with the global story – Depositphotos, Inc. headquartered in New York. At Depositphotos, Maria was managing the team of more than 300 people and overseeing the start of number of projects, such as Crello.com – simplified graphic design tool, and Lightfield – largest digital content production studio in Eastern Europe. Maria’s other experiences include consulting with PWC, working in Private Equity as well as holding a number of executive positions in telecom and tech companies. Maria completed Executive MBA program at London Business School.

  • Zaya Kadyrova

    Principal, Technology Venture Capital at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

    Zaya is a Principal at EBRD Venture Capital, a €100 million dedicated fund which invests in early stage technology companies in Central and Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa. She is involved in both active sourcing and origination of investments and deal execution, as well as portfolio management. Zaya is especially passionate about working closely with the entrepreneurs and the founders, helping them with strategic decision making as well as hands-on problem solving. She is currently a board member of three portfolio companies, and a mentor with the Techstars Accelerator program in London. Previously, Zaya was a TMT investment banker with Morgan Stanley based in London, where she focused on internet, online classifieds, media and digital media sectors, having worked on a range of deals such as private placements, IPOs, and leveraged buyouts. Zaya holds an MBA from INSEAD.

  • Ahmad Sufian Bayram

    Techstars MEA Regional Manager & Jusoor Managing Director

    Ahmad is a social entrepreneur and collaborative economy expert. He works as Middle East and Africa regional manager at Techstars, a worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed with a portfolio of over 1,100 companies and a total market cap of $65B. Ahmad  acts as Entrepreneur in Residence at Aliqtsadi, and advisor at both Jusoor, and Techfugees and advising several startups and non-profit organizations. He also founded ArabShare and Startup Syria. His website is one of the most prominent blogs in the Arab world that tackles the power of the sharing and collaborative economy.

  • Tara Nehme

    Founder at ticklemybrain (TMB)

    Tara is an entrepreneur, writer and public speaker driven by a love for creating things that matter. She is the founder of ticklemybrain.com, a platform that meets writing and editing needs by connecting individuals and businesses with qualified freelance writers. She is also board member at The Nawaya Network, partner at Presella and dedicated member of the region’s startup scene. Tara leads workshops at Bootcamp and supports startup development at the Center for Research & Innovation (CRI) at AUB.

  • Kevin Schoucair

    Business Support Manager at SPEED@BDD

    Kevin spent 10 years in the Boston area where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance at Bentley University and then worked for 3 years in wealth management. Kevin then obtained his MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship and finance from Babson College. Post-MBA, he joined two friends in launching a startup with the goal to increase financial inclusion by providing financial tools and education to the unbanked US population. Kevin returned to Lebanon in 2016 where he became active in the emerging startup ecosystem, working for Middle East Venture Partners, a leading venture capital firm. Now part of the Speed@BDD team, Kevin mentors startups during their acceleration, and assists them in raising investments as they grow.

  • Saeb Nahas

    Portfolio Manager at Phoenician Funds

    Saeb is a Portfolio Manager at Phoenician Funds. He is responsible for overseeing the investment process from initial contact with entrepreneurs to investment execution. Additionally, Saeb works closely with portfolio companies providing them with the required capabilities, tools and network to support them in all areas of their venture. Prior to joining the Fund, Saeb was a Consultant at McKinsey & Co where he worked on multiple projects and initiatives in the MENA region, covering a wide range of industries and sectors including financial services, industrials, health care, education, public sector and airlines among others. Saeb has exposure across a variety of functions including technology, risk management, oil and gas, corporate banking, and credit analysis throughout his experience at McKinsey, as well as his multiple internships in the region. Saeb served as Cabinet Member of the Entrepreneurship Club at the American University of Beirut, launching multiple student initiatives. He holds a Dual Degree in Business Administration and Economics from the American University of Beirut where he graduated with Distinction.

  • Teresa Chahine

    Innovation Advisor - Alfanar

    Teresa is Alfanar’s Innovation Advisor and the Social Entrepreneurship Program Leader at Harvard’s Center for Health and the Global Environment. She's the author of “Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship”, the reference text on building an effective and sustainable social venture. Teresa launched Alfanar Lebanon in 2012, and served as its country director until 2016. She continues to provide on-the-ground support in Lebanon, leads our research and development initiatives, and supports our executive team in building strategic partnerships.
