  • What is it?

    Mix N’ Mentor brings together promising entrepreneurs with top regional and global mentors. Thanks to its unique format and high profile delegates, 74% of past participants say they saw a direct improvement on their business.

  • Mentorship sessions

    At the core of the event are the mentorship sessions. Entrepreneurs will be matched with mentors based on profiles and needs. Various topics will be addressed throughout the sessions.

  • Fadi Ghandour

    Executive Chairman at Wamda

    Executive Chairman at Wamda Capital. Fadi is cofounder and executive chairman at Wamda and managing partner at Wamda Capital. He is deeply involved in supporting entrepreneurship in the region, holding advisory and board roles with MENA Venture Investments, Abraaj Capital, Endeavor Global, the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and the American University of Beirut. He also founded Ruwwad for Development, a regional initiative which helps disadvantaged communities overcome marginalization. Fadi Ghandour founded ARAMEX and served for 30 years as the company’s CEO.

    COO at Wamda

    Lina is a brand and marketing expert with over 15 years of global marketing and brand positioning experience. Prior to serving as COO for Wamda Capital, Lina was the Senior VP-Marketing & Corporate Communications at United Arab Bank PJSC and as CMO for Aramex where she was was one of the first marketers in the ME to establish and utilise social media as a customer service channel. Lina holds an MBA from the London Business School.

  • Hussein Hachem

    CEO at Aramex

    Mr. Hussien Hachem serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Aramex PJSC. Hussein is a veteran of the industry with over 22 years of regional and international experience. His career at Aramex started with re-establishing operations in Kuwait after the 1991 Gulf War. He then became the General Manager in Kuwait, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. Hussein is also a member of the Private Investors from Africa (PIA), a business coalition founded in 2001 that aims to leverage private sector experience in Africa to tangibly contribute to the continent’s future and of the Young President Organization (YPO). He is also a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative, a flagship leadership program of The Aspen Institute.

  • Charbel Sarkis

    Head of Retail & E-Commerce, Telecom & Technology in MENA at Google

    Charbel is the Sector Lead for Retail, E-Commerce, Technology and Telecom at Google in MENA. Prior to Google, Charbel spent several years covering the Telecom, Media and Technology industries as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in London and a strategy consultant at Booz & Co in the Middle East. Charbel studied Engineering at USJ in Lebanon and Strategic Management at HEC in France, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

  • Khaled Talhouni

    Managing Partner at Wamda Capital

    Khaled is a career venture capitalist and currently Managing Partner at Wamda Capital. He started his career at Dubai International Capital where he supported the development of the MENA region’s first seed capital fund. Since then Khaled has assumed a number of venture capital and startup roles including heading investments and strategy at twofour54 in Abu Dhabi. Khaled has invested in and managed over 60 early stage transactions including Careem, Littlebits, Mumzworld, Insider and Luxury Closet.

  • Fares Ghandour

    Investment Manager at MENA Venture Investments

      Fares also serves as Portfolio Manager at MENA Venture Investments, the region's largest seed-stage fund and previously ran the region's flagship mentorship event, Mix N' Mentor. Prior to that, Fares served as Investment Manager at MVI and has more than a dozen seed stage transactions executed including portfolio management and other operational support for key MVI companies. Fares holds a BA- International Relations from the University of Southern California.

  • Louis Lebbos

    Founding Partner at AstroLabs

    Louis is Founding Partner of AstroLabs, an organization on a mission to create a thriving tech ecosystem in MENA. Prior to starting AstroLabs, Louis co-founded Namshi, an e-commerce portal for the Middle East, where he led the marketing, onsite experience, and human resources teams. Before Namshi, Louis had served as a consultant at the Dubai office of McKinsey & Company, focusing on growth strategy projects and was part of the general management development program at a US Fortune 200 multinational. Louis earned his electrical engineering degree at North Carolina State University and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.

    Director of Operations- Commercial & Marketing at GE Healthcare

    Hany is a masterful strategic leader with 15+ years of leadership success. He is proficient in understanding customers’ diverse business needs and translating those to directing, promoting, and coordinating operations in a manner that has optimized market share and savings during his span. Hany holds the credit of generating nearly $8 billion in sales during career.

  • Amir Farha

    Managing Partner at BECO Capital

    Amir is an entrepreneur, angel investor, startup advisor and mentor. He has invested in and co-founded a number of local businesses, including Toolman, a property maintenance business; Purple PR, a boutique PR company of which he successfully exited in 2012; and Tandem Partners, a startup and small business advisory firm in which he helped over 100 companies plan and grow their businesses. He has looked at early stage businesses from every angle, starting with a Swedish VC firm based in London, followed by a stint at what was the first seed capital fund in the MENA region, the Arab Business Angel Network (part of Dubai International Capital), before becoming an entrepreneur himself.

  • Samih Toukan

    Chairman at Jabbar Internet Group

    Samih also founded Maktoob.com Inc. In the year 2000, Mr. Toukan founded and became the Chief Executive Officer of Maktoob.com the world’s first Arabic email and largest Arab Online community with over 16 million users. Following the acquisition of Maktoob.com by Yahoo! he became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jabbar Internet Group (Jabbar.com) a group comprising several leading Internet companies including souq.com, ikoo.com, cashu.com, sukar.com, cobone.com, joob.com and tahadi.com. He has several years of experience with Andersen Consulting in technology consulting, systems development and Internet services. He co-founded Business Optimization Consultants in 1994 and Maktoob in 2000.

  • Stephanie Holden

    Group Director, Strategy and Business Development at MBC Group

    Stephanie is the Group Director of Strategy and Business Development for MBC Group, before that she was Director of Business for the Middle East Broadcasting Company (MBC), specifically Al Arabiya and Middle East News. Before assuming her position at MBC in Dubai, UAE, Stephanie  was an Associate with McKinsey and Company (Dubai) where she worked with clients in the Middle East regarding education reform, healthcare reform, valuation and business plan development. During the Internet boom of the nineties, Stephanie worked as a Project Manager at Priceline.com and was responsible for International Implementation.

  • Tarek Amin

    CEO | Digital at Adline

    Tarek is a successful serial entrepreneur & angel investor who founded CareerMidEast.com before the turn of the Millenium. In 2016, Tarek founded and became a permanent member of the Investment Committee of Dubai Angel Investors (DAI). His experience includes establishing Connect Ads, serving as managing partner & executive producer at Alkarma Edutainment, founding Zanad.tv, and currently CEO – Digital at Adline Media Network. He also serves as an advisor, strategist and mentor to startups and entrepreneurs around the world.

  • Omar Soudodi

    Managing Director at Payfort

    Omar brings entrepreneurial innovation and extensive dotcom expertise to Payfort, coupled with strong management experience in the financial sector in the Middle East and the United States. Soudodi was previously the general manager of Souq.com Egypt, the largest online retailer in the Arab world where he oversaw the launch and the successful growth of the portal since 2009. Prior to that, Soudodi was behind the creation and launch of Accelarabia.com in 2006 where he founded the region’s first online mortgage aggregator, earning him regional recognition and nominations for multiple entrepreneurial awards. Before his entrepreneurial accomplishments in the Middle East, Omar spent 10 years building a successful banking career in the United States where he held several senior roles in commercial, international and private banking.

  • Laith Zraikat

    Senior Investment Manager at Arzan VC

    Laith founded his first startup in 1997 to bring more people and businesses in Jordan onto the World Wide Web. Three years later that pivoted into what became one of the most notable startups in the Arab World; Jeeran.com. As Cofounder of Jeeran from 2000, Laith served many roles while shaping and executing the company’s product vision, and growing its user base from a handful of friends to nearly 7M users. As Jeeran matured, he decided to leave in 2012 and pursue his true passion, working with startups. Since then he has advised and mentored many startups in product and technical areas. A self-taught technologist and a geek at heart, Laith enjoys working closely with passionate developers and designers on new and bold ideas.

  • Roland Daher

    Head of Dubai 100 at Falcon and Associates

    Roland heads the Falcon and Associates’ Dubai 100 program, an intensive 100 day pre-accelerator targeting global early stage digital health startups.  A big believer in the social impact of entrepreneurship, Roland has been a key player in fostering regional growth for the ecosystem. He was one of the founding members of Wamda and led its  business development and strategic alliances. Roland had also acted as member of the Steering Committee at in5. Roland holds a Computer Engineer degree from ESIB and an Executive MBA from London Business School.

  • Patrick Thiriet

    Cheif Startegy Officer at Choueiri Group

    Based in Dubai, Patrick is the Chief Strategy Officer of Choueiri Group, a leading player in the MENA media landscape. He is in charge of developing the investment arm of the Group. Prior to joining Choueiri in 2014, Patrick had spent 20 years in banking. From 1994 until 2008, he worked for Societe Generale Private Banking, where he steered various acquisitions and organic development projects between Europe, Asia and North America, before opening the bank’s subsidiary in Dubai in 2007. In 2009, Patrick joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management, where he was promoted Head of Middle East and North Africa in 2011. He graduated from EDHEC (Ecole Des Hautes Etudes Commerciales Lille) in 1993, and holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD.

  • Ronaldo Mouchawar

    CEO at Souq.com

    Ronaldo is the co-founder and CEO of souq.com, which has grown to be the largest online retailer and marketplace in the Arab world. He has accumulated 15 years of experience in technology, and business management. He served as a technical and systems consultant with EDS in the US. In 2000, he spearheaded a consulting company that managed numerous, web and e-commerce projects in the Arab world. In 2005, he launched souq.com the first online marketplace for the Arab world.

  • Ali Al Amine

    Cofounder at Fit Republik

    Ali is the Founder and Managing Director of FitRepublik, which has revolutionized the fitness landscape in the Middle East Region. He served as the Consumer Channel Group Lead for the Microsoft Corporation Gulf and was the General Manager of business development Merchant Bridge Investment Bank where he worked on a $70 Million fund to build four-star hotels across the MENA. He also arranged a joint venture with Stanhope for the London Prime Property Company. As part of the founding management team of Pragma Group Holding in Dubai, he started companies in the fields of hospitality, marketing and F&B across the region. He also set up a distribution company called Technoworld, which distributed Dell consumer products across the Middle East. 

  • Hussein Wehbe

    Regional Director at Aramex

    With more than 15 years of experience in the logistics and transportation solutions industry in the Middle East, Hussein drives business growth in the gulf region, which is one of the company's largest markets in terms of financial performance and contribution overseeing an operation of more than 4000 Employees. Hussein joined Aramex in 2001, and he has since risen through the ranks from early days in Junior Management to Country Management positions in different countries, and recently he was managing Aramex UAE before his latest appointment as the Regional Director. 

  • Ankur Shah

    Chief Finance & Development Officer at Careem

    Ankur leads the finance and corporate development teams at Careem and comes with over 10 years of experience in venture capital. He also helped start companies in India and the US. After having started his career at McKinsey, Ankur played multiple roles including Head of Education investments and Acting India Director at Acumen Fund. He also helped set up WaterHealth India, a company that sells drinking water in rural India, and managed a project for Robin Hood Foundation to build libraries in 25+ New York City public schools, now serving ~20,000 students. He is a Soros Fellow at Harvard, and holds an architecture degree from Cornell.

  • Walid Faza

    Chief Operating Officer at Wamda

    As the investment principal, Walid is responsible for screening, structuring, and executing the investments as well as providing networking opportunities, strategic direction and ongoing management to these funds’ portfolio companies based in the Region. Walid is an advisor to many start-ups and serves on the Mentorship Network of Mowgli, Oasis500 and the Queen Rania Center of Entrepreneurship.

    Ashraf is a Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Specialist with extensive expertise in Regional & International Affairs, and has a passion for change in the Middle East. He specializes in Public Affairs, Policy, Strategic Communications, Digital Communications, Change Management, Corporate Communication, Public Relations, and Crisis Communications through Strategic and Policy Level Leadership in the Levant & GCC.

  • Tarek Al-Jundi

    Founder of Hatch Branding

    For the past decade, Tarek has been involved in a diversified corporate and start-up culture from early-on. Back in 2013, as an editor of a major publication in Jordan, he was the first in the Middle-East to do a piece on thirty entrepreneurs under thirty, heavily delving himself into each company. Since then, he has worked for various brands and agencies of all sizes, Leo Burnett and Atom to name a few. Most notably, he has built the brand for the recently invested-in startups Geeks and Boxit. Doing so successfully has led him to build his own brand strategy firm, Hatch, which specializes in finding and building the Why for your startup. 

  • Miriam Kiwan

    Director, Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing at AUS

    A senior management executive with a strong background in international marketing strategy, brand development, digital marketing and strategic partnerships, Miriam has a proven track record in developing and leading innovative marketing initiatives within B2B and B2C sectors in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining AUS, Miriam served as UAE Marketing Director  for Emerging Businesses at the Dubai International Financial Centre, where she spearheaded the development of six emerging brands under the umbrella of the DIFC Investments. She has also worked within the software industry in the UK and the U.S, where she managed the international marketing strategy throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa in collaboration with US teams. She is currently completing the TRIUM Global EMBA program, which is jointly  issued by  LSE, NYU Stern and HEC Paris.

  • Walid Mansour

    Managing Partner at MEVP

    Walid has more than 15 years of experience in Venture Capital, strategy, corporate finance and engineering within the digital, telecom, software and new media industries. Prior to joining MEVP in 2010, Walid was a lead associate at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and before that he worked as a strategy manager at the UAE’s Prime Ministry Executive Office focusing on public policy initiatives. During his stay in Dubai, he worked on setting-up entrepreneurship related programs and developing incubation in the Arab World through several Dubai based initiatives such as the Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation.  Prior to that, Walid worked at Booz & Company as a consultant covering telecom & media and as an industrial engineer in France. Walid holds an industrial and urban planning engineering degree from Institut National des Science Appliquées de Lyon (INSA de Lyon) and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Sara Chemmaa

    Strategy & Business Development Manager at MBC Group Dubai

    Before joining MBC, Sara worked for 3 years at Mckinsey & Company in Dubai, where she covered projects with clients from the GCC regarding economic development in the MENA region, SME financing and development, labour policies, women participation in the workforce, and education reforms. Sara also worked as an investment associate with N2V in Amman and as an Analyst with Societe Generale in Dubai. Born and raised in Casablanca - Morocco, Sara went to France to pursue her higher Education. She earned her master’s degree in Finance and Economics from ESC. While at business school, Sara went on an 8 months exchange program in Hiroshima Japan.
