Students entering college or those looking to get another degree may want to read this report before deciding on a major. Professional database and ranking platform Identified, which is quickly becoming the LinkedIn of Facebook, has released a new white paper detailing why engineering graduates are so in-demand in the U.S. market. The report examines why U.S. demand for engineering graduates is outstripping its demand, and which firms are hiring the most foreign engineers to compensate. While H-1B visas may be hard to come by, it's clear that for those that receive one, it's both easier to find an engineering job than it is to be employed in other sectors, and it's also more lucrative, with salaries 23 percent higher than the average job posting salary.
