KAAYIA is seeking social entrepreneurs in the Arab world for its 4th cycle

The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched the fourth cycle of the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation & Achievement (KAAYIA). The award aims to shed light on the efforts of Arab youth in achieving positive change and solutions to the challenges and needs of their communities.

Arab founders and co-founders of projects that are aimed towards solving a societal problem in their own communities, between 18 - 30 years old, can now apply for the award before the 13th of April.

The selection of applicants and their projects will be based on the following criteria:

  • Leadership and Innovation

  • Collaboration and Partnership

  • Impact and Sustainability

KAAYIA was launched by Jordan’s King Abdullah II at the World Economic Forum in 2007 to celebrate and support young men and women throughout the Arab region who have pioneered innovative solutions to urgent social, economic and environmental challenges.

Throughout the past 3 cycles, the award has recognized 30 top social entrepreneurs from the Arab world by granting them financial awards and providing them with in-kind support, which includes a special tailored capacity building program in partnership with the International Youth Foundation.

These social entrepreneurs had an immense contribution to development efforts in the Arab World, their initiatives have had a positive impact on society, consolidating the principles of active citizenship, community service, volunteering, community, leadership and sustainable development.

The 30 previous fellows of KAAYIA include Rabee’ Zureikat of Zikra Initiative, Rawan Barakat of Raneen Media, Zeina Saab of Nawaya Network, Yasmin Hilal of Educate Me, Kamel Al-Asmar of Nakhweh, Afif Tabsh of Aie Serve Clubs, Raghda El Ebrashy of Alashanek Ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development, and many other names.
