Your guide to Global Entrepreneurship Week in the Middle East

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) takes place each November and is the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurs who are launching startups to bring their ideas to life, drive economic growth and encourage job creation. GEW inspires people around the world through local, national and global activities that help them explore and share their innovative potential.

In the Arab world, entrepreneurs in just about every country are taking part in GEW over the next seven days. GEW is also sponsoring the Global Startup Battle which started this past weekend and continues through next weekend as more than 20 Startup Weekend events take place simultaneously across the region and compete for global recognition and prizes.

For those who aren’t sure which events to attend near them, here we offer a brief guide to the week’s activities:


In North Africa

In the Gulf

The Gulf will see a range of activities taking place this week, from the massive Dubai World Game Expo to GEW Oman hosted by the National Business Center. Events include:
