Tarique Khatri, Senior Vice President at Cleartrip.com, discusses his company’s expansion from India to the Middle East.
Khatri discusses the importance of localization in travel content websites by simply offering deals in different currencies and payment methods. Cleartrip has been careful not to brand themselves as solely an Indian company; they are working to be useful for customers in MENA as well.
“We are possibly the only website in the region who has a majority of the low-cost carriers on our site,” Khatri points out. The advantage of working with these carriers accounts for 25% of Cleartrip’s business. Khatri also explains how Cleartrip is working to ensure the success of its expansion by adapting to the markets in each country.
